THE 3RD ANNUAL TERRIFIC THANKSGIVING TURKEY PLEDGE!

Hello my loves!

First of, please enjoy the photo on the right of me snuggling with Russell the rescued turkey at Farm Sanctuary. Ain't he handsome? :-)

Well, Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and with that, the hustle and bustle of finding just the right food to display on the table for everyone to munch on. Stuffing! Mashed Potatoes! Cranberry sauce out of a can! Hey, you can take the girl out of New Jersey, but you can't take the New Jersey out of the girl...

This Thanksgiving, I will be eating plenty of yummy vegan food with the hubby and my mama who will be in town next week, along with tons of veggie friends in LA, and I couldn't be happier.

Okay, here goes: I am challenging you - YES YOU! - to

Kiss Me, I'm Vegan's

3rd ANNUAL TERRIFIC THANKSGIVING

TURKEY PLEDGE!!!

We've done this fun tradition for the past two years with fabulous success - nearly 100 pledges on the blog!

Here's how it goes:

In the comment section below,

please make a firm commitment NOT

to eat turkeys this Thanksgiving.

You can say something as simple as "No turkey for me!" or as long as "I would never dream of consuming turkeys because their too cute to eat, pass the tofurky please!"

I would love to see if we can get at least 100 pledges by Thanksgiving this year. And don't worry - you can be a vegan, vegetarian, or meat-eater-slowly-transitioning-to-kiss-worthy-vegan and still post a comment below.

AND PLEASE SHARE THIS WITH JUST ABOUT ANY FRIEND YOU CAN GET YOUR HANDS ON!

Here’s to a delicious, compassionate
holiday season.

For vegan Thanksgiving recipe ideas, check out last year's holiday post, and if you haven't yet, give a Tofurky roast a whirl. I was skeptical at first, but oh my goodness are they amazing!

I feel so thankful this year for my wonderful family and friends.Hurricane Sandy took so much from so many and I am so grateful that we were spared. I certainly don't need to eat turkey to give thanks and I won't again this year. Happy Thanksgiving to all. Gail

I, Lindsay Wolf, your faithful vegan blogger, will not be indulging in a single animal product this year, especially not dining on beautiful, intelligent turkeys. They are much to precious to eat. Thank you to all who have and will be pledging your compassion this year! xoxo

I pledge not to eat any animal products this thanksgiving. Lentil loaf all the way!
No turkey for my husband or I. This will be our second vegan Thanksgiving. I can't believe I ever fussed about having to miss the traditional taste of meat on the holiday. Don't miss it at all and I LOVE all the wonderful veggie fixins. :) Last year we sponsored (is that the word?) a turkey at Farm Sanctuary and we'll do it again this year.
It was this time last year I was learning about veganism. Adam made a fantastic turkey, and I ate it with doubts swimming in the back of my mind. I am grateful for this path I am on now, and the love I spread by making compassionate choices. That's why I'm pledging with the wonderful Lindsay to not eat Turkey this year, or any other!

You couldn't pay me to eat a turkey (or any other meat). But I think some meat eaters would try to pay me to. WHY?

This will be my third Turkey free Thanksgiving. <3
This is my second year animal free. I'll be going to CT for the holiday, and handing out vegan outreach to my non-vegan family. My goal is for them to see turkeys the way I do-as beautiful, sentient beings.

For the 6th year in a row I pledge no turkey! I could not be happier or more satisfied. Once you give up eating dead animals you will lose the taste for it and discover the variety, abundance, goodness and deliciousness of plant food!

I'm proud to say this will be my, gosh, seventh year without turkey on Thanksgiving (a feat I didn't think I could do before, esp. without feeling deprived), and this will be my fourth vegan Thanksgiving!

My husband and I last ate a turkey in 1976 when we were 19 and 20 years old. Our son has never eaten any animal in his life. We love our vegan lives so you can be sure we will make this pledge next year and for the rest of our lives. Namaste to all.

Although my fam is still meat-eating, they are supportive of my new healthy lifestyle. No turkey for me and no reproving looks, either'

I last ate a turkey one year before the March for the Animals in Washington, DC. That was 24 years ago and I have not eaten turkey since. This year one more turkey will be saved because of a smart choice I made twenty-four years ago. That's 24 turkeys that have been saved by my family. Woo hoo!

This is my first official plant-based Thanksgiving that I have prepared! Last year was my first offical "vegan" Thanksgiving, but I was new to this lifestyle, so I brought a can of veggie soup to my mom's house. This year, I have prepared a FEAST, and I excited! I pledge for the rest of my life to never consume another animal. That is a promise. I hope everyone has a Happy, Healthy Thanksgiving!
