The Terrific Thanksgiving Turkey Pledge!
Hello boys and girls,
Well, Thanksgiving is upon us, and with that, the hustle and bustle of finding just the right food to display on the table for everyone to munch on. Stuffing! Mashed Potatoes! Cranberry sauce out of a can! Hey, you can take the girl out of New Jersey, but you can't take the New Jersey out of the girl...
This year, I am challenging you - YES YOU! - to a
Here's how it goes:
First: Watch this amazing video below my friend and fellow activist Ciddy Fonteboa made.
Second: In the comment section below, I want you to make a firm commitment NOT to eat turkeys this Thanksgiving. You can say something as simple as "No turkey for me!" or as long as "I would never dream of consuming turkeys because their too cute to eat, pass the tofurky please!"
I would love to see if we can get around 100 pledges by Thanksgiving. And don't worry - you can be a vegan, vegetarian, or meat-eater-slowly-transitioning-to-kiss-worthy-vegan and still post a comment below!

Great idea Lindsay, I hope you surpass 100 pledges!
PS - I am thankful for Whole Foods for preparing a SINGLE VEGAN MEAL for Thanksgiving for $12.99...so I don't have to cook!
(The chocolate turkeys want to be eaten. Gobble Gobble.)
I make this pledge as a compassionate choice for my health, our eco-system, and so the animals can dance, snuggle, flap, jump, roost, blush, change color, live in schools, migrate and play chase.
i think we should start eating pizza for all holiday festivities!

A toast to the turkeys! May you all have a very happy Thanksgiving! <3
Also? I love your blog and find it a very helpful, entertaining resource. Thank you!
Even though, I live in Canada, and we've had our Thanksgiving(didn't eat any then either!) I still pledge to pass.

i haven't eaten a single turkey in 18 years! how is that for commitment? i know compassion lies within all sentient beings, and i for one will not stand for cruelty to animals.
So I easily pledge zero turkey. Didn't eat it as a little kid, either. Have been a vegetarian for 19+ years and vegan nearly 9 years. And there is never any looking back.
Vegan peanutbutter tofu pie and vegan pumpkin pie -- that's my thanksgiving.
Here is my pledge! I renew my commitment to not eat a turkey this Thanksgiving! I have been a vegetarian since 1991, and this will be my first declared Thanksgiving as a vegan!
Save the sweet, playful turkeys!
love,
Candice

Have a great holiday, my friend!

To all the happy turkeys that were sparred this Thanksgiving; and much love to the ones that were not.
